Welcome to the Tampa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Please visit our website for information on upcoming events that support and highlight our 5 point programmatic thrusts in the areas Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement. We remember the vision of our 22 founders as we take Social Action to heart and incorporate it into everything that we do including participation and organization of Delta Days and the County Commission, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Relay for Life, and World Aids Day Awareness events.
We will continue to offer signature programs for our youth: The Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, the Jean E. Noble Delta GEMS and our newest youth initiative Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence (E.M.B.O.D.I.) Applications are accepted between May and August of each year. In addition our Scholarship program offers thousands of dollars to qualified and deserving students of Hillsborough County during our May Week Scholarship program. We also actively support our Arts and Letters commission’s Red Carpet events, youth art exhibits and Galas.
In addition to the above listed initiatives, the Tampa Alumnae Chapter will continue to present programs and activities designed to increase physical and mental health (“Strengthening Our Future...Moving Our Kids” and “Decide. Create Share.”); financial fortitude (Code Red: Black on Black Friday, Fiscal Fitness, and entrepreneurship); and political awareness of issues and legislation that impacts us as a community.
We invite you to view our calendar and click on the program links for additional information.
